桃之夭夭的旅行札记

Gary在四月得了女儿，象所有爱显摆的新爸爸一样，他给朋友们群发了一封邮件：

Annoucing Miss Elizabeth Matilda Perkins

Hi Everyone,
 
Sorry for the generic email, but as I am sure you can appreciate my life has just got a little bit busier :-)
 
Well Miss Elizabeth Matilda Perkins was born last Thursday weighing in at 7lb 8oz.... 
 
Both mother and daughter are doing very well, and as a very proud father I will say that she is very beautiful... 
 
Here in Aus they keep new mothers & fathers in hospital for 5 days to make sure they can deal with the trials and tribulations of caring for a little one...
 
Elizabeth is still getting used to us and the home...  Were getting used to Elizabeth and a lack of sleep!
 
I'll send out some pics soon and write to you individually to give you an update on everything...

很快他又发了三封邮件过来，都是女儿的新照片，同时写邮件曰：

And I promise not to bombard you with anymore, but these are a lot better than the last lot!!

这个Gary，以前本博曾数度提及，在利大同学中，他是我最好的哥们，热心、大方、爱憎分明、有时爱捉弄人，除此之外他还有钱，继承了祖父的遗产，移民到了免税天堂Irle of Man，过着优游的日子。后来他遇到了澳洲女孩Terry，为了陪伴她修完学业，他跑到新西兰找了份工作，后来与她结婚，最后干脆费尽周折连国籍都搬过来了。

已婚的Gary还没有让我感觉他真的成家了，因为很难想象崇尚自由、没有宗教信仰、大大咧咧的他做丈夫会是什么样子。但直到收到他的这几封邮件，看到他和妻女的合影，突然觉得Gary真的有家了。

虽然我常吹牛说：“心安是家”，或者“自己就是自己的家”，还是不得不承认，看见这个曾经象是永远不会长大的男人，玩够了闹够了，象一片轻飘飘的羽毛，渐渐沉静下来，落向天涯海角的这个家，我为他感动、高兴。Gary，all the best wishes to you and your family...

据说，Family的意思是：Father and mother i love you。
